And as more folks are jumping onboard the ‘Blues Train,’ it’s the Metro system that’s the big winner right now.
More St. Louisans are bleeding blue, putting up their banners around the region. On Washington Avenue near 14th Street a giant Blues flag greets visitors.
Meanwhile, Metra of Chicago and metro of St. Louis had a friendly wager. The winning city from the first round got to take over the other’s fan page.
Chicago’s Metra had to post the Metrolink photo on the Eads Bridge with the Arch in the background as their social media banners on Twitter and Facebook for a day and encourage Chicagoans to take Metro when in St. Louis.
“The Metra folks were good sports, they put up the picture of the Metrolink train with the arch in the background and they had some confused and curious Metra customers saying, 'Hey, what's going on,’” says Patty Beck, Metro spokesperson. “So they explained there was a friendly little wager on the series in the first round and the Blackhawks had lost and they were making good on the wager.”
