Violent Sunday in North St. Louis

ST. LOUIS (KTVI) – It’s been a violent Sunday in north St. Louis as shots rang out leaving one man dead and three teenagers wounded in separate shootings.

Detectives at the North Patrol have been busy as they continue to try to piece together all the details surrounding both shootings.

St. Louis city detectives are investigating a fatal shooting in the Walnut Park neighborhood located near Mimika and West Florissant.  Around 9:30 this morning residents say they heard as many as 17 shots fired.  Shell casings littered the street.

Homicide detectives responding to the scene found a 35-year-old man with multiple gunshot wounds to his chest and stomach.

Investigators say the victim was transported to the hospital where he later died.

Police say bullets from the shooting struck several parks cars at a nearby apartment complex.

The victim has not been identified.

At 1 pm, police were then called to the 4600 block of Kossuth in north St. Louis for a report of multiple people shot.  Officers arriving on the scene discovered a 17-year-old male shot in the hand, a 16-year-old male shot in the leg and another 16-year-old male shot in the foot.  Police say a suspect drove by the group of teenagers opened fired and fled the scene.

All 3 victims are expected to survive.

Residents in both areas just want the violence to stop.

In both incidents the suspects remain at large.

An investigation is ongoing.
