Driver pulled from pick-up truck following accident

SUNSET HILLS, MO (KTVI) – Watson Road was closed near Lindbergh Boulevard during Tuesday morning following a rush hour accident.

According to Sunset Hills police, the accident occurred around 7:25 a.m. A truck snapped a power pole in half. Nearly 500 Ameren Missouri customers lost power.

Firefighters extracted the driver from the truck and stretchered him to an ambulance.

The cause of the accident has not been disclosed.

The westbound lanes of Watson were kept closed while accident reconstruction crews examine and clear the scene. Traffic is being diverted.
