(KTVI) – A gym in Shrewsbury that closed its doors for good Monday night has left its members high and dry.

The Powerhouse, a 24 hour gym, locked up its door last night shortly after 9 pm.

Some members were working out when someone working for the owner came in to lock everyone out.

Members were given no information on getting their money back on their memberships.  Most paid an upfront fee of $217 for a year membership.

Some area fitness centers have signed up or talked with Powerhouse members today.

For the clubs who have sign up fees they are offering to wave them.

We reached out to the owner of Powerhouse today for more details on possible plans to  give members refunds but have yet to hear back from  him.

Powerhouse had more than 2,300 members.

If you’re one of them and are frustrated about the closing of Powerhouse you can also make a complaint to the Better Business Bureau.
