Amber Alert: Man and 9-year-old niece he allegedly took from school may be in Missouri

ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI)- A 9-year-old girl taken from school in Tennessee by an uncle with no custodial rights may be in Missouri. Around 3:00pm Tuesday, an Amber Alert was sent out alerting people around Otterville, MO, in Cooper County, to be on the lookout for a white 2002 Dodge conversion van with Tennessee registration 173GPS. The van has a dark stripe down the middle with light gold running boards and paint chipping off of the hood.

Carlie Marie Trent is a white female, 4-feet 8-inches tall, weighs 75 pounds and has blonde hair and blue eyes. She was last seen wearing a black and gray tank top and blue jeans.

An Amber Alert was issued for middle and east Tennessee on behalf of the Rogersville Police Department on Thursday. A kidnapping warrant has been issued against Gary Simpson, 57, an uncle by marriage to Trent, whom he allegedly removed from school last Wednesday under false pretenses.

The two were possibly sighted in the Otterville, Missouri area on Monday. Anyone having any information should dial 911 or call the Cooper County Sheriff’s Department at 660-882-2614.
