ST. LOUIS (KTVI) - Thousands poured into downtown St. Louis for the Annie Malone May Day Parade Sunday.

The parade that’s one of the largest events in the African-American Community traveled down Market Street featuring bands, lively entertainment, political and civic leaders as well as media personalities.

FOX 2 personalities were on hand for the parade that included Elliott Davis, Shawndrea Thomas and Kim Hudson.

This St. Louis tradition began over a century ago in the historic African-American Greater Ville Neighborhood when thousands of St. Louisans would gather to honor Annie Malone, the founder of Poro College and the noted children’s home that carries her name.

FOX 2/News 11 are proud sponsors of the event.
