SAN JOSE, CA (KTVI) - The St. Louis Blues, looking to respond after Tuesday’s disappointing shutout loss to the San Jose Sharks in Game 2 of  Western Conference Finals, instead failed to generate any offense Thursday night as the series shifted to California.  The Blues outshot their hosts but still fell 3-0 as the Sharks took a 2-1 series lead.

Tomas Hertl scored two goals and Joonas Donskoi added another for San Jose. St. Louis has not scored since a Jori Lehtera goal in the second period of Game 1, a span of more than 7 and a half periods.

Blues Goalie Brian Elliott was pulled for Jake Allen after the Donskoi goal and St. Louis played with an empty net for the last five minutes of the third period in an effort to find the back of the net.

The Blues will look to even up the series Saturday at 6:15 p.m. in San Jose and avoid being put in a do-or-die Game 5 when the action shifts back to Scottrade Center on Monday.
