FLORISSANT, MO (KTVI) - Some students will be sidelined for the McCluer North High School graduation ceremony. There was a big water balloon fight in front the high school as part of a senior prank. Some say the punishment goes too far.

Graduating high school is a point of pride for Lamoree Moore. Because she took part in a senior prank at McCluer North High School, she won't get to walk.

"That's what everybody looks forward to, you can get a diploma but you want to walk across the stage, everyone cheering for you." said Lamoree Moore.

Her close friend Jayda Jones won't get to either. It is heartbreaking for her because she was selected to give a speech at the ceremony.

The girls say Thursday, they and a whole group of others, threw water balloons and fired squirt guns with only water inside as students left school for the day.

District officials were already dealing with a series of pranks at McCluer High school. Just the day before students set off fireworks in the hallway and later threw water balloons at students outside. At least one which contained bleach and two teachers were hurt in the chaos.

The girls say they never heard a warning that they would get in trouble for senior pranks.

The district spokesperson says there was a written warning to students. An announcement made over the intercom at McCluer High. He wasn't certain an announcement was made at McCluer North.
