ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI)- St. Louis’ homeless are getting their hands a little dirty for a “growing” sense of purpose.  Near Union Station sits the City Seeds Urban Farm, a two and a half acre vegetable farm. Mentored by Gateway Greening, homeless clients from St. Patrick's Center tend to this urban farm through a therapeutic job program.  They do everything from planting and watering the vegetables to even harvesting and cleaning them.

To fund the farm, Gateway Greening offers weekly produce boxes through their Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program.  Members pay for a full season of produce prior to the start of the season, then receive a share of the harvest each week.
