Argument leads to shooting outside Schnucks

SPANISH LAKE, MO (KTVI) – An argument turned fatal Monday morning in a grocery store parking lot.

According to Sgt. Shawn McGuire, a county police spokesman, the shooting occurred before 12:45 p.m. at the Schnucks in the 1500 block of Sierra Vista Plaza, located in Spanish Lake.

Police found the victim, an unidentified 24-year-old, lying in the parking lot with a gunshot wound. He was taken to the hospital where he later died.

McGuire said the victim knew his killer and the two men got into an argument in the parking lot just before the shooting. The suspect fled from the scene on foot.

Police do not have a suspect in custody. Anyone with information on the shooter’s whereabouts is asked to contact the St. Louis County Police Department or CrimeStoppers at 866-371-TIPS.
