Man arrested for firing gun on Mizzou campus

COLMUBIA, MO (KTVI) – University of Missouri police have arrested a man who allegedly fired shots while at a gathering on campus in May.

The incident occurred Friday, May 6 near Traditions Plaza, which is located at the end of Carnahan Quadrangle. Officers from the Columbia and University of Missouri police departments responded to reports of shots being fired late that evening.

No one was struck by gunfire, campus police said.

On Thursday, June 2, campus police apprehended Tyree Reed in connection with the incident.

Reed, 22, was charged with one count of unlawful use of a weapon and one count of armed criminal action.

Campus police said Reed is not currently a student at the university.
