(KTVI) - Soccer teams from all over the state were in St. Louis for the Missouri state cup.
Kids ages 12 to 19 competed in this two-day tournament for a chance to move on to regionals and then possibly nationals.
Missouri Youth Soccer Association Executive Director Nik Bushell said the number of kids enrolling in Missouri youth soccer increases every year.
"We’ve had progressive growth pretty much every year we have right around 30,000 kids involved throughout the state in 93 organizations," said Bushell.
Parents of players said there is a lot of talented players in Missouri so the competition within the state in steep.
"Missouri is one of the strongest states, the region is 14 to 17 states half of the teams that qualify for a national championship are from Missouri," said soccer parent Jeremy Vandeventer.
