SULLIVAN, MO - Part of Meramec Caverns will reopen Friday. The caverns have been closed since March 10th, after potentially toxic air was discovered.

The problem started 40 years ago when a nearby factory dumped a degreaser into the groundwater, leading to toxic vapors.

The tourist attraction announced it will resume tours in the upper level of the caverns Friday. The lower levels remain closed.
