Man charged in north city murder

ST. LOUIS (KTVI) – The St. Louis Circuit Attorney’s Office charged a 30-year-old man in connection with the shooting death of another man in a north city neighborhood.

According to Leah Freeman, a spokeswoman for the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, the murder occurred May 20, just before 7:30 p.m., in the 4100 block of W. Florissant Avenue, which is located in O’Fallon’s Park.

Following a short investigation, police apprehended Jihad Spann for the murder.

Prosecutors charged Spann with first-degree murder, armed criminal action, and unlawful possession of a firearm. He remains jailed on a $1 million cash-only bond.
