ORLANDO, FL (KTVI) – Tuesday night a vigil was held the University of Central Florida in memory of the 49 victims that died in the worst mass shooting in U.S. history.
The vigil was planned for outdoors, but Mother Nature wasn’t cooperating and the ceremony was moved indoors.
But that lack of cooperation did nothing to take away from a very spirited event that featured speeches from campus leaders and community activists.
The theme of the night was similar to other events like this, keeping hope in the face of hate.
That said, it was hard to keep emotions under wraps for members of a community that are still trying to grasp the magnitude of what took place here just a few days ago.
