ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) - Today is bring your pet to work day, and the folks at Purina are trying to break a record!

Not everyone here at Fox2 brought their pets to work, but Lisa Hart is accompanied by her adorable pup Gunner! Along with Gunner, Dr. Kurt Venator, a Purina veterinarian, brought a friend's dog to work too!

Bringing dogs to work is an everyday reality at Purina, as the company has found numerous benefits for employees and their pets! Research shows that bringing your pet to work can reduce blood pressure, decrease loneliness, lower cholesterol levels, increase productivity, and boost physical activity.

Last year, Purina set the world record for most pets in the workplace - 281 in one day! And they are trying to break that record today! They are celebrating  with puppy portraits, mobile grooming performances, and a 'yappy' hour with frosty paws and ice cream for associates and their pets.

Help Purina celebrate the day by bringing your pet to work!
