Chemical fire blows roof off O’Fallon shed

O’FALLON, MO (KTVI) – A hazmat crew has been called to a chemical fire in O’Fallon, MO. An explosion around 5:15pm blew the roof off a shed near Technology Drive according to Monarch Fire Chief Tom Vineyard.

There were about 15-20 barrels of polymer resin in the shed. The chemicals in the barrels are used to line PVC pipes.

The cause of the fire is not known at this time. More details will be added as this story develops.
