Suspect charged in Old North St. Louis stabbing
ST. LOUIS (KTVI) – The St. Louis Circuit Attorney’s Office charged a 31-year-old in connection with an overnight murder Thursday.
According to Schron Jackson, a spokeswoman for the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, the incident occurred just after midnight Thursday in the 1400 block of Clinton Street in Old North St. Louis.
One of the victims, a 31-year-old woman, said she and her boyfriend were stabbed by an acquaintance. Her boyfriend, identified as 35-year-old Ricky Gillespie, was pronounced dead at the scene. The female victim was rushed to a hospital and was said to be in stable condition.
The suspect, Anthony Rohrer, was taken into custody a short time later near N. 17th Street and Mullanphy.
Rohrer was charged with first-degree murder, first-degree assault, and two counts of armed criminal action. He remains jailed on a $500,000 cash-only bond.
