Two in custody after shots fired at police from inside De Soto, MO home

DE SOTO, MO (KTVI)- Police and sheriff's deputies had a home in De Soto, MO surrounded Tuesday morning after gunfire and reports of a hostage situation. Around 8:30am, the De Soto Police Department received a call about gunfire coming from a house in a residential area in the 1000 block of S. 3rd Street. When officers arrived, a person inside or near the home started shooting at them.  The officers were able take cover behind a vehicle until additional police could respond. Neither was wounded.

The Jefferson County Sheriff's Emergency Response Team was called to scene and with the help of the Negotiation Team, the situation was brought to a peaceful resolution.

A 40-year old man and a 27-year old man were taken into custody without incident.  Their names will not be released until formal charges are filed.

A juvenile was also in the home. No one was injured.

The De Soto Police Department and the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department continue to investigate the incident.
