ST. LOUIS (KTVI) – Even late Friday, customers of Southwest Airlines were still encountering turbulent travel at Lambert Airport. Southwest had big technology problems on Wednesday. Flights were canceled and delayed.

Friday it was catch-up time, but space on planes was tight.

More than 50 Southwest flights in St Louis were delayed and 300 flights nationwide were canceled, some of them at Lambert. A Southwest spokesman said customers who have flexibility might want to re-book their travel after Sunday. If they call the airline they may find long hold times.

The spokesman said the technology breakdowns have been repaired. It’s going to take a few days to get travel back in order. Traveler George Barron was not happy.

“Little disgusted because they’re having the problems; they shouldn’t be having them if they’re paying the people right to do the job right,” Barron said.

Passenger Marilyn Ortiz added, “It was like a shock, then; just the inconvenience of not knowing.”
