ST. LOUIS (KTVI) - The National Weather Service extended its excessive heat warning for the St. Louis metro through the weekend.

Still 18,000 people braved the steamy weather Friday afternoon to get in line for a good spot at the Jason Aldean concert.

"It's worth it!" said super fan Leslie Russell. "Jason's awesome! I love him! This is my 52nd time seeing Jason live."

Russell said she wasn't going to let a little heat keep her from seeing him a 53rd time.

Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre concert staff with Live Nation said they prepared to help keep concert goers safe in the heat.

The company set up eight misting stations, medics were on hand if anyone experienced a medical emergency and as always, it allowed patrons to bring in a sealed liter-sized water bottle or empty water bottles to be filled inside.
