Police investigating shooting of elderly man in Cahokia IL

CAHOKIA, IL (KTVI) – Cahokia police are searching for whoever is responsible for shooting an elderly man inside his home.  Police say the suspect(s) shot the man and then stole his car during a home invasion.

The shooting occurred on Agnes Drive Tuesday afternoon.

Detectives say the victim was 86-years-old man who served in the Korean War.

Neighbors say he's a person who would help anyone in need and had lived in the area for 50 years.

Investigators are appealing for the publics’ help in tracking down the person responsible for the shooting.

The victim’s car war recovered Wednesday morning in Belleville Illinois.
