How Michael Brown Sr. helps community in wake of his son’s death

FERGUSON, MO (KTVI) - The Michael Brown Foundation Chosen for Change is preparing for the second annual Michael Brown Jr. memorial weekend.

Several events are scheduled to honor Brown, who was fatally shot by former Ferguson police officer Darren Wilson, August 9, 2014. The weekend begins Friday afternoon with a reception.

August 5th
• 4:00 p.m. - Memorial Weekend Kickoff Reception
• 6:30 p.m. - Youth Speak Truth: Responding to Radicalized Violence in America (9950 Glen Owen Dr., St. Louis, MO 63136)

August 6th
• 8:00 a.m. - Michael Brown, Jr. Walk for Justice from Canfield to Normandy High School (*7:00  a.m. Walk Lineup in Canfield)
•10:00-3:00 p.m. - GSM & CFC Annual Community Day (9950 Glen Owen Dr., St. Louis, MO 63136)
• 7:00 p.m. - CFC Scholarship & Benefit Dinner (Urban League 3701 Grandel Square, 63108)

August 7th
• 12:30 p.m. - Revival Church Worship Service (8390 Latty Ave., 63042)

August 9th
• 10:30 a.m. - Michael Brown, Jr. Vigil at Memorial Site
• 11:55 a.m. - National Moment of Silence for 4.5 minutes (2974 Coppercreeck Rd., 63136)
