SHILOH, IL (KTVI) - Scott Air Force Base is now home to the largest cyber operation center in the United States.

After a decade of planning and three years of construction, government officials cut the ribbon outside the $100 million Defense Information System Agency on Thursday.

"This facility will help expand war on cyber attacks, cyber terrorism, and more effective communications for our military around the world using the internet,” said Illinois Governor Bruce Rauner.

The 164,000-square foot complex houses the United States Premier Cyber Protection Division, built to execute global mission support and emergency response coordination, along with containing the most advanced networking systems available to the Department of Defense.
