Sabrina Elam still visits the site where her son, Jared, was murdered nearly two years ago. Now there sits a memorial that she visits regularly
“It may be hard for people to understand, but when I come here I get a sense of peace because I know my son is okay,” she said. “I know he’s with the Lord. And I’m at peace with that. I just want justice for Jared.”
Jared was shot and killed in the 4200 block of Obear the night of September 4, 2014, just two days before Jared would start college.
“He was murdered by someone that he thought was his friend. It was somebody that he looked up to and Jared knew something about this person,” Sabrina said.
Sabrina said that individual was questioned by police but later released because there wasn't enough evidence to charge him.
“Somebody knows what happened. And if they were on the receiving end they would want someone to come forward for them,” she said.
