Gun violence erupts across St. Louis City

ST. LOUIS (KTVI) – It’s been a violent weekend in the City of St. Louis.  Police are investigating seven shootings, two homicides, and a murder-suicide.

The gun violence started on West Florissant and North Kingshighway in north St. Louis Saturday around 7:15 p.m. with a 24-year-old white male shot in the back.  He was transported to the hospital in stable condition.

Six additional shooting occurred in north St. Louis to south St. Louis Saturday night through Sunday afternoon.

Two homicides happened in north St. Louis on Martin Luther King and near St. Louis Avenue and West Florissant early Sunday morning between midnight and 1 a.m.

Sunday afternoon homicide detectives were called to the Lindenwood Pak neighborhood for an apparent murder-suicide.  Police were dispatched to a residence in the 6700 block of Plainview for a welfare check.  Upon entering the home two bodies were discovered deceased in the residence.

At this time no motives or suspects have been determined.
