ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) – St. Louis County lawmakers are considering a proposal that would raise the minimum age to buy tobacco. The legislation would bump the age from the current 18 to 21. The restriction would cover the sale of vaping products along with cigarettes, cigars, and smokeless tobacco.

Supporters of the bill say it’s too easy to buy tobacco products in St. Louis County. Critics say young smokers would just go to another part of the metro to get them.
