Some asthmatics have a greater chance of having a stroke and cardiovascular events, according to a study at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine. Dr. Richard Lee, a surgeon with SLUCare and SSM Health SLU Hospital, visits Fox 2 News in the Morning to explain just who’s at risk.

Asthma is a chronic condition caused by inflammation narrowing of the airways causes difficulties breathing. That cardiovascular risk is primarily for people who get asthma later in life beginning at age 18.
