EDWARDSVILLE, IL (KTVI)- The Metro East Humane Society serves a five-county area in southwestern Illinois, offering an adoption program for homeless animals and the only licensed animal abuse/neglect investigator in the area. The "no-kill" animal shelter dedicated itself to providing a safe and healthy environment for cats and dogs looking for new homes.

To help those efforts, MEHS will again host their annual “Wag N’Walk” fundraiser on Saturday, September 10, 2016.  In addition to the 1-mile trail Walk, the grounds will be filled with a variety of kid’s activities, restaurant booths, pet contests, canine demonstrations, and a raffle filled with fantastic items for the whole family.

The walk takes place from 9:00am-Noon at Watershed Nature Center in Edwardsville, IL.  Registration is $10 per person or $30 per family.
