ST. LOUIS (KTVI) – The St. Louis Public Library and The League of Women Voters held “Celebrate the Vote Festival” in downtown St. Louis.

One hundred years ago Saturday, more than 3,000 suffragists paraded downtown.

They wanted to remind delegates at the Democratic National Convention those women still did not have the right to vote.

Those women had one demand, a plank in the party platform supporting women’s suffrage.
