SAN FRANCISCO (KTVI) – There’s a delicious amount of schadenfreude across St. Louis following the Los Angeles Rams’ disastrous performance on Monday Night Football.
The Rams were shut out 28-0 by their division rivals, the San Francisco 49ers. Even with Todd Gurley in the backfield, the Rams only rushed for 65 yards as a team. They were outgained on the ground not only by their opponents–the 49ers rushed for 120 yards–but also by a drunken fan who stormed the field in the fourth quarter.
Typically, sports broadcasts will keep the cameras off any fan who runs onto the field. But sports blog Deadspin took Westwood One radio announcer Kevin Harlan’s call of the incident and synched it up with the television broadcast.
The fan, who it might be safe to assume had a couple of cocktails prior to storming the field, can be seen running from the 40-yard line to the 10-yard line on the opposite side of the field before turning back and heading back up-field before being tackled by security at the 40. That’s 80 yards in all. And this individual had been running the length of the field prior to the recording.
Stan Kroenke may want to consider reaching out to this fan about a possible contract. Can’t be any worse than the product he put on the field last night.
