ST. CHARLES COUNTY, MO (KTVI) – A third person died a month after a home invasion and shooting at a St. Charles County residence.

Danny Donovan, 20, died as a result of internal bleeding, exactly five weeks after a shooting at his father’s house.

The incident occurred just before 4 a.m. on August 8 on Southwinds Drive, just off Salt Lick Road.

Investigators said a person armed with two handguns entered the home and confronted another man and his girlfriend over narcotics. The two individuals engaged in a struggle, at which point Donovan’s father, 53-year-old Daniel Patrick Donovan, came out to help.

The fight spilled into the backyard, at which point Danny Donovan joined the fight in an attempt to subdue the armed individual.

Several shots were fired and Daniel Donovan, his son, and the suspect were all wounded.

The suspect, later identified as 20-year-old Amonte Savyon Dees, was pronounced dead at the hospital. Daniel Donovan was later pronounced dead.

Danny Donovan finally succumbed to his injuries Tuesday morning.

Investigators said Dees and one of Donovan’s sons worked together at a local restaurant.
