ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) - for the first time in 44 years, the Great Forest Park Balloon Race was canceled Saturday morning. The race normally begins at the central field in Forest Park. But after Friday’s torrential rains, organizers decided that the area was not safe enough for the public, balloons and balloon crews.
More than 70 hot air balloons were expected to take part in this year’s race. The cancellation came on the heels of Friday’s balloon glow cancelation because of bad weather.
