The San Francisco Giants scored six unearned runs in the third inning and pounded the Cardinals for a second straight night. The final score from San Francisco on Friday night, Giants 8 – Cardinals 2. A Yadier Molina throwing error opened the flood gates in that fateful third inning and Cardinals starting pitcher Luke Waver could not recover, giving up six runs after the miscue. Giants catcher Buster Posey drove in two of the six runs with a single, making it 3-0. Posey later added a two run homer off Jaime Garcia, capping his four RBI night.
