ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) – The Rams now call the LA Coliseum home after spending 20 years in St. Louis. They played their first regular NFL season game there on Sunday and many fans are not happy with the venue. Facebook reviews of the stadium are filled with concerns over, fights, the excessive heat, crowded concourses, and poor service.
Fights broke out in the stands during preseason games at the Coliseum. Police were called in to break up a fight between Kansas City Chiefs and Los Angeles Rams fans. Francis Dario posted a clip of the fight to YouTube. You can see that video in the player above.
The Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum is also the home to the University of Southern California Trojans. It is now the Rams’ temporary home. The team also played there from 1946 to 1979, when they moved to Anaheim Stadium. In 2018 the Rams will move new Los Angeles Entertainment Center in Inglewood.
Rams fans are sharing their experiences on Facebook. These are a few reviews posted to the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum and Sports Arena’s Facebook page:
Franci Forero writes, “Completely disorganized to get into stadium, at one point they ran out of cold water bottles and beer! my boyfriend and I spent $50 on two tall cans and water only to receive them warm! The way the stadium is built creates a melting pot! You could see everyone was miserable with the heat and lack of shade or cooling down resources! Attendees were trying to escape the heat by sitting on the stairs which created a such a hassle to get to any level! Apparently more than 160 people were treated for heat related issues and several hospitalized! Def not going back to a game unless it’s during the colder seasons! Just terrible!”
“Yes it was hot, not the coliseum fault. What was their fault was the lack of coordination. Ridiculous waits for the concessions stands, only to be told they where out of water and where no longer taking credit cards. People being let in with out enforcing the clear bag policy. People smoking within the massive crowds. I watched as people outside passed in beers to their friends inside the stadium and to top it off was heckled by a “security” employee! I figured I would be heckled by the Rams fans (I’m a hawks fan) but for the most part they where respectful. Please educated your employees to show some respect.” posts
“This place is a dump and should be torn down!!! Hell with history when you can’t handle people. 45min for a wager and then they were out when I got up to the front and the whole stadium was out!!! I have contacted my lawyer and he said a great case to sue and win. Let’s take them and the city to the cleaners
