DES PERES, MO (KTVI) – A search for a suspect after a hit and run in Des Peres over the weekend nearly costs a man his life.

It happened here along I-270 at Dougherty Ferry Road a vehicle clocking speeds of over 100 miles per hour hitting another vehicle and then continuing to drive.

Brewskees Restaurant and Bar owner, Russ Kasper considers himself lucky to be alive, after an accident over the weekend on interstate 270 nearly cost him his life.

Kasper says he was heading home, driving north on 270 just past Dougherty Ferry Road. He says he noticed a car approaching in his mirror, but then the moment of impact.

Kasper was able to walk away with minor scrapes and scratches, but even more bruising the driver of the vehicle, who hit him, never stopped.

All that Kasper remembers about the vehicle is that it was a white, grey or silver pickup truck.  He`s hopeful someone knows something that could lead police to who was behind the wheel, so this doesn`t happen to anyone else.

There are no clear leads on who the driver of that pickup truck is, police are still compiling their reports, but if you were in the area early Saturday morning and may have seen something a little off or know anything that could help in the investigation, you're asked to call the Des Peres police.
