Second person charged after murder victim found inside burning house

CARBONDALE, IL (KTVI) – Carbondale police have arrested and charged a 25-year-old man for allegedly trying to dispose of a body.

According to authorities, firefighters responded to an active fire in the 900 block of East Main Street in the early morning hours of August 30. After extinguishing the fire, police and firefighters located the body of a woman.

Investigators are still working to determine the identity of the woman found dead. They have not yet revealed if the person died before the fire or as a result of it.

On Friday, police arrested Robert Dennis and charged him with one count of concealing a homicide. He is the second person to be charged in the case.

On Monday, police arrested 22-year-old Tiesha Anderson and charged her with concealing a homicide. Her bond was set at $750,000.
