ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) - The St. Louis Mayor and Board Of Aldermen have approved Lambert Airport's name change. Starting in January the airport will be called, "St. Louis Lambert International Airport."

The airport director says the formal process of submitting the change to the FAA can now begin. The change puts St. Louis first, giving it more prominence, while continuing to honor the legacy of airport founder, Albert Bond Lambert.
