Body found in trunk after police chase in St. Francois County

ST. FRANCOIS COUNTY, MO (KTVI) - A body was found in the trunk of a SUV after a police chase at around 10:30am in St. Francois County.

Police tell FOX 2 that a trooper tried to stop a vehicle for expired plate. The suspects sped off on Highway 67 and then took the exit tO Cedar Run road. The suspects drove onto the property and hit a tree. Two suspects fled on foot. Police were able to take them both into custody. A trooper taking inventory of the contents of the SUV found a body in the trunk.

All three men are residents of the Farmington area. There are no charges yet. An investigation is on-going.

The victim and suspects are white males. The victim will not be identified until next of kin is notified. The cause of death is not known at this time.
