ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) - Election monitors from a national organization will be outside St. Louis area polling stations Tuesday. The group Election Protection offers voters across the country information about their voting rights. Voters with problems will be able to call a hotline number for help. That number is 866-OUR-VOTE.
Denise Lieberman is an attorney leading the effort to arm St. Louis area voters with helpful information. She said monitors will be handing out flyers with a list of acceptable forms of identification and how to find the correct polling place.
“We are not there to advocate on behalf of any candidate, any political party or any issue,” said Lieberman. “Our sole purpose at Election Protection is to be there for the voter and help them navigate the process on Election Day.”
Lieberman said Election Protection has monitored previous elections. She said volunteers will be shifted from one polling place to the next based on need.
