Bank robbed in south St. Louis; suspect sought

ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI)- Police are investigating after a bank was robbed Tuesday morning in south St. Louis. It happened shortly after 10 a.m. at Midwest BankCentre located at 3207 Meramec. Police say a black male, displaying a handgun, walked into the bank and announced a robbery.

Authorities say bank employees complied with his demands and he quickly left the building.

Witnesses told police the suspect exited the bank and fled the scene in a white Jeep. He was last seen driving eastbound from Virginia Avenue on Gasconade.
