ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) - Parents don't have to pay to enroll their little ones into the pre-K program in the St. Louis Public School District. Youngsters 3-5 years of age are taught core subjects, including reading, writing and math to prepare them for kindergarten and beyond. Information about the early childhood education program is available to parents at back to school events.

Now labor, education and community leaders are hosting a forum on Saturday, November 19 at the Communications Workers' Hall in St. Louis to share innovative child care ideas and other important resources with them.

State certified teachers are educating hundreds of pre kindergarteners in the district. Program supporters hope to increase participation.
