The annual Guns N’ Hoses boxing event is Wednesday night at Scottrade Center. The money it raises is needed this year more than ever. The BackStoppers organization assists the families of firefighters and police officers who were lost or injured in the line of duty.

Guns N’ Hoses will feature 16 three-round bouts of boxing and mixed martial arts matches between police officers, firefighters and emergency medical personnel from Missouri and Illinois.

St. Louis Police Chief Sam Dotson and St. Louis Fire Chief Dennis Jenkerson visit Fox 2 News in the Morning to not only promote the charity event, but discuss the importance of BackStoppers in the first responder community.
