ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI)- Work has been completed on another key portion of the renovations at the Gateway Arch grounds.  The 7½-acre recreation and event space at the north end of the National Park opened Tuesday. The area includes brand new connections from Laclede’s Landing and the riverfront to the Arch, replacing the old parking garage.

The work is part of the ongoing $380 million public-private CityArchRiver project.

The park entrance on the southwest side of the park near the Old Cathedral is also open, but the Washington Avenue entrance remains closed for construction access as work continues on the museum under the Arch.
