Thousands gather for Thanksgiving parade in downtown St. Louis

ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI)- Thousands of people gathered downtown this morning for the 32nd Annual Thanksgiving Day Parade. More than 130 floats, balloons and marching bands were seen in this year's parade which began around 9:00 a.m. at Kiener Plaza.

Blues legend Bobby Plager was the Honorary Grand Marshal.

Before the parade started, hundreds hit the streets for the annual Hungry Turkey 5K race. Proceeds from the race benefited Operation Food Search.

There are also 5K races throughout the day in Chesterfield, Olivette and Troy, Missouri.

The Turkey Chase will take place in Belleville, Illinois.
