Two in custody after man shot in face on Metrolink platform

SWANSEA, IL (KTVI)- The St. Clair County Sheriff's office is investigating a shooting that sent a man to a St. Louis hospital Monday night.

Authorities were called to the Swansea Metrolink station after 7:30 pm for a report of a man shot in the face on the train platform. A Sheriff's spokesman says two people of interest are in custody but aren't releasing much else about what happened, or the condition of the victim.

St. Louis Metro authorities are assisting with the investigation. Trains are now operating between Memorial Hospital and Shiloh-Scott Metrolink stations in Illinois. Metro has been using shuttles to transport passengers by bus between Memorial Hospital, Swansea, Belleville, College and Shiloh-Scott stations.
