Surveillance video from a gas station captured images of a dark-colored sedan moments after it struck a man November 30, shortly after 7 p.m. The pedestrian walk sign was lit as the man was crossing the intersection at Landowne and Shrewsbury Avenues.
The victim, a man in his fifties, was about three-quarters of the way across the street when the sedan struck him. The vehicle was turning from Landsowne to Shrewsbury.
“The car left the scene,” Shrewsbury Lt. Brian Catlett said.
Catlett said the man was bruised badly and was taken to the hospital. He has since been released.
“We had the victim come by the other day and he took a look at these images. And he identified one of the vehicles as the one that struck him,” Catlett said. “It’s a dark-colored sedan. Probably a Mercury Marquis, or a Ford Crown Victoria. It’s got dark-colored paint. It’s kind of faded though. It’s maybe late 90s, early 2000s.”
Anyone who might remember seeing the vehicle November 30 should contact the Shrewsbury Police Department.
