Cardinals Sign Dexter Fowler, 5 Years – $82.5 Million

The Cardinals broke out of their quiet off season on Friday morning when they announced the signing of free agent outfielder Dexter Fowler. The former Cubs center fielder agreed to a five year, 82,5 million dollar deal with the Cardinals. The contract includes a no trade clause. Fowler, a lead off hitter, is known for his high on base percentage and decent power with speed. Fowler is also looked upon as a plus club house guy. He is known for having fun and inspiring and entertaining his teammates. Cardinals GM John Mozeliak and manager Mike Matheny both attended the press conference with Fowler.
