LINCOLN COUNTY, MO (KTVI) – Icy roadways and hours-long commuter delays kept students in the Lincoln County RIII School District at school overnight.

Approximately 170 students were still at the school Friday night. The district has been kept in communication with parents.

The American Red Cross has been tasked with providing cots for the children to sleep on.

Meanwhile, Lincoln County has activated its emergency operations center.

The county is asking residents to heed the advice of the Missouri Department of Transportation and avoid getting behind the wheel this weekend.
