O’FALLON, MO (KTVI) – A school in O'Fallon, Missouri is calling a snow day Friday; not because of the weather, but because many at the school are feeling under the weather.

The flu is taking over St. Dominic High School.

The school tweeted out the canceled classes due to the flu outbreak.

School president Cathy Fetter said 15 percent of the student body has the flu, meaning about 100 students are sick. Teachers and staff also have the bug.

“I think we pretty much bought O’Fallon out of all the Clorox and Lysol wipes that they've had in most stores,” Fetter said. “So all week we've been wiping down classes and in between classes and we have the students wiping down desks.”

On Friday morning, maintenance crews will be at the school bright and early wiping down surfaces from top to bottom.

St. Dominic hopes to resume classes Monday.
